SCHENECTADY — A Schenectady man was sentenced Friday to a total term of 30 years in prison in connection with a series of violent crimes last May, Schenectady County District Attorney's officials said.

Julius "Skip" Aycox, an educator and school administrator who was an institution in the Schenectady City School District for over three decades passed away on Tuesday at Glendale Nursing Home.
