SCOTIA — Spring is nearly here, and in Scotia, that means the return of Jumpin’ Jack’s Drive-in.
It’s set to open for the season on March 27 at 11 a.m. sharp, according to a Facebook post from the Schonowee Avenue drive-in.
The fast-food joint has been in operation since 1952, catering to customers’ cravings for nostalgia: the taste of a coleslaw-topped Jack Burger; the staff’s shout-out of “subway!” when a patron gives a tip; the first soft-serve ice cream cone of the season, eaten at a picnic table in the sun.
“We try not to change anything,” owner Mark Lansing Jr. previously told The Daily Gazette. “Customers want the memory of that taste, the memory of that nostalgia from their childhood.”
