The Wine & Music Triptych series, hosted by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck, continues later this month at Dance Fire Studio in Saratoga.
The evening will include curated Romanian wines, presented by Josh Turo, sommelier and managing partner of Yono’s Restaurant in Albany, alongside a six-course menu crafted by Jeannette Balins, including traditional Romanian dishes Chiftele de Peste (spiced fishcakes), Sarmale (pork-stuffed cabbage), and Papanasi (homemade doughnuts).
Live musical performances by Musicians of Ma’alwyck will lead guests through each course of food and wine. The program features "Prelude" by Georges Enescu, "Ballade" by Ciprian Porumbescu, "Little Suite" by Mihail Jora, and "Romanian Dances" by Béla Bartók. Studio owner Florin Vlad will recite an excerpt from the Romanian epic poem "Luceafărul," which translates to “The Morning Star,” by Mihai Eminescu.
Wines of Romania is slated for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28. Tickets are $125 per person and reservations should be made by Saturday.
