Catherine Faraone Schenectady - Catherine Mary (Motto) Faraone, 95, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at home on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Catherine was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Carmelo and Mary (Donato) Motta. She was employed as a switchboard operator for New York Telephone. Catherine was a devoted woman, whose love and dedication to her family knew no bounds. She was a kind and faithful Catholic who lived her life as a true Christian, always embodying the values of compassion, generosity, and grace. Her warmth and gentle spirit touched everyone she met, offering comfort, encouragement, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, of 53 years, Dominick Faraone; her son, Steven; infant grandson, Daniel Willi; siblings, Patsy (Rose) Motta, Joseph Motta, Rose Dyer; and brother-in-law, James Latham.
Catherine is survived by her loving family; her children, Joyce (Robert) Willi, of Glenville, David Faraone, of Schenectady and Janet Faraone, of Glenville; grandchildren, Matthew Willi, Sara (Patrick) Cunningham, and twins Sean and Justin Willi; great-grandchildren, Khody and Leon Cunningham and Danielle Willi; siblings, Carmella Latham, and James (Kathy) Motta; sister-in-law, Rita Motta; brother-in-law, Charles Dyer; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street and then to St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from to 4 to 7 p.m.
