The cast of Mac-Haydn's "Something Rotten!"

As the Mac-Haydn summer season begins to wind down, the old girl has proven she still has what it takes to captivate an audience. “Something Rotten!” set in England in 1595 is one of the funniest spoofs and most tightly written shows to hit the stage in years. The audience is welcomed to the Renaissance, where we follow the lives of the Bottoms — Nick a struggling playwright and his younger brother Nigel a frustrated poet who, truth be told, is the more talented of the two — who are fighting for their theatre company to flourish against the big hit of the time, one William Shakespeare. Think Taylor Swift vs almost any other performer today.
