Put qualified people in government jobs
My head exploded Monday morning when I learned that alt-right podcaster and conspiracy theorist Dan Bongino has been nominated for FBI deputy director.
He is a delusional crackpot, maniacally focused on “owning the libs,” whatever that means, and has no qualifications for government service other than a rude mouth and violent fantasies.
Putting TV and radio entertainers in charge of the government is not going to work out well.

Support Prattsville veterans banners
The 2025 display season is fast approaching and we are in urgent need of your support.
In 2021, our first year, we had many sponsors. The initial purchase of $125 got you the banner and two full years of display.
We then inspected the banners when we took them down after two years and decided to offer two additional years of display for $50.
However, now these banners are dried and brittle and will not sustain another year in the weather.
We are asking those that would like to continue to be a part of the Veteran Banner displays, to purchase the banner again at full price. This will get you a full two years of display just like before.
If you choose not to participate, that is OK, we just wanted to give everyone the opportunity once again.
Everyone always comments on how nice these look when we are on full display, and I have noticed that there have been groups of people that will walk the town reading about the local heroes we are all so proud of.
For information on Prattsville’s program, visit https://militarytributebanners.org/new-york/prattsville-ny.html
If you have recently purchased a banner or recently renewed, our records should reflect that.
But, I do encourage you to verify if possible. We do not want any misunderstanding(s).
Thank you all for your support and I hope to see your banners on display again soon.

Government workers deserve our respect
Reflecting on my 40-plus-year corporate career before retiring 15 years ago, I am shocked by the recent treatment of government workers.
My former colleagues and I often complained about deadlines, long hours, and changing requirements, but nothing compared to the anxiety of a company acquisition, leading to job cuts and management changes.
However, the cruelty of the current federal regime in just five weeks is unprecedented.
Government employees face unsigned emails demanding their accomplishments within 48 hours or face termination, bogus buyout offers and dismissals based on whims.
Public accusations of laziness, malfeasance and acting like crybabies by an unvetted billionaire against dedicated workers is cruel and must be condemned.
This approach does not improve efficiency, save money or enhance productivity; it only spreads anxiety and endangers government programs which will harm all Americans.
Consider how you would handle these conditions and question if this is the government we want.
